After I am experiencing and enjoying the really low lows of my mental health I’ve found myself within an unmanageable deep dive into mental health educational content. I’ll re-pay attention to your podcasts which i have previously took in to frequently and binge your YouTube videos. (Inside a totally not creepy way). It’s nearly as if focusing my time and effort straight into things i am struggling with is really a coping mechanism. It brings lots of comfort and validation in my experience and enables me to “check out”. Regrettably, I want to hinders my recovery because it seems like I’m intentionally placing myself right into a position of dwelling on my small mental illness, however i can’t stop it! Obsessively researching what I’ve been dealing with is one thing which i did since i have would be a pre-teen (I’m 21 presently) and contains solved the problem to go through the large amount of traumatic encounters since i have never freely shared all of them with my parents so far in existence. Is that this a kind of maladaptive daydreaming? Performs this originate from attachment to my mental illness? Or perhaps is it an expression from the trauma I’ve experienced?
